Join the party! Every village here, no matter how small it is, has its own traditional festival with a culinary, religious or historical background. One fascinating event is the mega wine bottle race in our neighbouring village – La corsa dei fiasconi!

Pure relaxation, fun and interesting! Harvesting olives with family and friends is a tradition! In the neighbourhood you can take part in a traditional olive harvest, visit an olive mill and find out about extra virgin olive oil and its production.

Lovely biking trails within easy reach! For cyclists our surroundings offer perfect conditions with routes that are flat, hilly, short or long. They all have their own special character: Lake views, cypress avenues, olive groves, castle ruins, sunflowers…

Wine is a very important topic here! Meet the wine-maker of a small family-run winery in Umbria, have a picnic in the middle of vineyards or enjoy a wine tasting with one of the top producers in Tuscany! So many wineries nearby are waiting for you!

In the footsteps of the Etruscans

Explore Etruscan and Roman history! Umbria and Tuscany have a history with ancient roots. You can discover these Etruscan, Roman and Lombard origins by visiting necropolises, museums, underground tunnels, monasteries, archaeological parks and catacombs.

Saffron harvest

A special opportunity! Take part in a manual saffron harvest! This versatile, unique and healthy spice is actually grown right here in the neighbourhood. Find out about the cultivation of saffron, its medicinal properties and its many culinary uses.

Art lovers can discover lots of contemporary art, religious buildings and famous frescoes in this region! The Galleria Nazionale in Perugia is home to the largest art collection in Umbria. Also Cortona f. ex. has some interesting galleries and exhibitions.

The Umbria Jazz in Perugia and the Trasimeno Blues are two fantastic Festivals in Umbria! For those who love classic music, we recommend attending the open-air events in some romantic little village.

Pecorino cheese

Would you like to visit a family-run, biodynamic cheese dairy in Tuscany and taste the typical Pecorino di Pienza? Some of them even offer picnics in beautiful areas. Experience the different ripening stages and learn about the production of sheep cheese!

Great sailing

Water sports enthusiasts – attention please! Lake Trasimeno, Italy’s fourth largest lake, is the perfect place for kitesurfing, wakeboarding, sailing and windsurfing thanks to the thermal winds, its small size and shallow depth. And this at any season.

Classic car races

This is for classic car enthusiasts only! Please join the historic road race “Coppa Perugina” in June and the Mille Miglia, Italy’s famous classic car race, in May. Enjoy watching the vintage cars passing at lollygagging speeds through some Old Town.
